Good day Ford Forum,

I need to know which forum to post some questions in. I inherited my grandmother's non running ford escort - 1982 maybe. I don't have pics, and its several states from me, sitting at the moment.

Car was last run in 1996. my plan is to be prepared to get it running on my next trip back. or, tow it to texas where i live, and leave it with my mechanic for a few weeks.

my expectation is - new gas and maybe new tank. plugs, cap and rotor. some oil down the plug holes, and maybe new carb? brakes? and this is auto transmission - so drain and fill?

This is only my personal opinion.
It might cost more to bring the vehicle back home, if it is an 82, than it would be worth unless it is in exceptional condition and even then you might have problems getting parts for it. Have you considered these items?
