Just bought a crown vic cop car--have a few questions
I am an old guy who impulse-bought a 2007 cop car--I like it so far but have a couple of things I'd like to fix--very minor. The hi-beams don't seem to work--I asked on the cr vic site for advice. Also the driver's seat is like a park bench, kinda uncomfortable. But I like everything else about the car--even the paint/upholstery is nice! I am looking forward to some suggestions how to sweeten up this car--I like it alot already.
Don't know at this point if this applies to your vehicle, but many emergency vehicles had an alternating relay installed for the hi beams. As you probably noticed on emergency vehicles the headlights flash alternatively when parked at an emergency site. It might require some searching to look if the relay was removed and the hi beams not reconnected.
Sometimes it is better to stick with one thread posting instead of trying to spread it around.
As far as the hi-beam wiring ,If there is a better way to do this since all techs/ mechanics don't always wire in additions in the same place the same way, I would start tracing the hi beam wires from the headlights on back to the dimmer switch in the vehicle. There could be a separate switch that was for that purpose only. Maybe someone that has done a few of those dismantle jobs can pinpoint a more specific location. You might find the relay or fuse for the high beams defective.

Good suggestion hanky--I bought the car from an agency thirty miles away whose mechanics dismantled the police equipment--I will ask them for advice, they were pretty helpful when I met them. They might know where to look right away.
