Default Loss compression

I've been trying to get my 07 explorer fixed and a lot of mechanics already tried fixing it but to no avail, it just got worst. So, originally what happened was it stopped while I was driving within the city in 20kmh and then suddenly it stopped. So I had it towed to a mechanic's shop and he said nothing serious, then everytime I call he said this and that blah blah blah until he said that the timing chain ate up a plate part of the engine. So he said he needs to buy a new chain, which I was just wondering why would be a timing chain? so, I just let it go and waited for him to fix it. Then I dropped by to the shop. The vehicle almost got burned because of the engine almost getting caught up in fire, the exhaust pipe sounded like a bad muffler and the engine is literally jumping rough idle. So I pulled it out and felt like something was wrong and he was not being honest about something, then I asked my friend to replace the EGR which at that time was fried and we found out he covered the hole with a cut off metal sheet to cover the air. Then all the wiring system of the engine are twisted, peeled off and was in the wrong place especially the MAF sensor harness plug. The oil spill are not just on top of the engine but it was inside the plugs of each and sensors (I don't know why and how) so we cleaned it up, then the next thing that went wrong is the ECU (which costed me a lot for the repair) and the starter assembly.

So I have replaced several parts of the engine and I still don't know what makes the engine fail. If you press the accelerator into 2000rpm it's smooth but if its slow drive it's very rough that when you turn on the ac the engine shuts down. The lights are flickering as well and drains the battery.

I am running out of patience and budget and I don't want to listen to their advice to open up the engine again and change the valve because that is what's causing the loss compression plus it's all wild guesses.

Please advise me about this.

Get a second opinion...

I hope you communicate better with your mechanic than in your post. A lot of gibrish. You got a long post with little useful information.

Unfortunately, you had your vehicle in a shop that has some problems of it's own.

If possible , as Raski suggested, another diagnosis is in order, hopefully from a qualified shop.

I hope my conclusions so far, are not so.
Not everyone is with some good background regarding vehicles and that may be why your info is so incomplete.
Sometimes we have no choice in who we choose for repair to our vehicles and I would believe that is the case here.

It will cost some $$$ to get an accurate and honest opinion, but that is just about all that is left.
Isn't there anyone you know that can recommend a good shop? Yes, they are hard to find !!

I got the error code P1714 and P1713 system bank too lean.

The status of the vehicle right now is not even working. Having a lot of misfires, rough idle and when you turn on the AC the engine shuts then it won't start again. I already replaced the ff:

- STARTER SOLENOID
- SPARK PLUGS
- IAT SENSOR
- MAF SENSOR
- MAF SENSOR PLUG AND HARNESS
- COOLANT SENSOR
- EGR
- PCV VALVE
- REPAIRED ECU
- CHECKED FUEL INJECTOR

The last mechanic that looked at my vehicle said that "it could be piston ring or engine valve 2, 4, 5,6" but nothing still happened.

Those codes deal with the transmission, specifically the shift solenoid "A" You might want to double check those codes and have them rescanned.

If you took all the time and $$$ that you spent so far and got nowhere, it just might have been cheaper to have a qualified shop check it out.

I would suspect there is a timing chain system problem and replacing all the wrong parts will not do anything other than drain your wallet.

There is some complicated work involved and you are shooing in the dark. If you reconsider and get on the right path , you just might save yourself some grief and $$$.
If you check some of the info on u-tibe , you might get some idea of what is involved and if you feel you want to tackle the job.
Wish I could offer some encouraging suggestions, but this is where we are at the present time.
The more you learn and know the better you will be able to make a good decision.

I am not the one who replaced them, those mechanics that I have hired in the past asked me to buy those parts, that's why I am so desperate to get it fixed. The timing chain-- the first mechanic that I brought my vehicle to-- asked me to buy a timing chain set WHICH HE ONLY REPLACED THE CHAIN GUIDE and not the entire set. Right after that, everything went haywired and the vehicle is at its worst state right now. I am in a place where the "qualified mechanics" are six hours away.

So now, they are all saying that the reason why the engine is failing is because of a broken engine valve.

You are in a tough spot.
There has to be someone closer that can diagnose this and do it right. It doesn't have to be a dealership, but maybe they can recommend someone closer to you to handle the job and do it right.
