Default Mysterious Forced Engine Shutdown 2006 Crown Vic p-71

I have an 06 Crown vic that recently started dieing randomly. What is happening I believe is a Forced Engine Shutdown command from the PCM. The Power Train Malfunction Indicator light (wrench) comes on and The engine dies instantly when this happens. I can switch off the key and immediately restart without any problems. This occurs several times every day over the course of a few miles and is not related to anything I can identify in terms of driving conditions.car has plenty of power idles smooth

I've pulled codes P2107 and P0223. My understanding is that these codes indicate there is a problem in the electronic throttle control circuits. It makes sense that if the PCM thinks there is some malfunction with the electronic throttle control that the engine would be shut down.

I changed the throttle assembly, the PCM, camshaft & crankshaft sensor, fuel pump, fuel pump module in the trunk area, fuel filter, spark plugs, mass airflow, map sensor, oil pressure sensor

the gas pedal with parts from a junk vehicle and no change, I brought it a place that pulled internal codes p-0600 &

checked all wiring under wheel wells

2105. I hear many who had this problem long ago but see no solution I just thought I would ask if anyone has seen something like this. Are there other sensors or circuits besides the electronic throttle control that can cause the Forced Engine Shutdown?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Folks,

I had this same problem after a normal Tune-up. I have attached the codes I had. I can confirm that some of these crown victorias are sensitive to after market coils. I reinstalled my original OEM coils and the random shut downs and codes disappeared. Whats strange is the car never misfired and ran smooth. If you look at the quote in the above post, it even states that it could be related to after market coils. If you have random shut downs, wrench light, but are able to easily restart your car I would install a good set of oem motorcraft coils.

Codes I got after installing after market coils, these all disappeared after installing the original oem coils

States it could be the coils
