I recently came into possession of a silver 1987 Crown Victoria. It is in immaculate condition with 53,000 original miles. Everything is original, including the tires, It is stored in a wooden floor garage and has been driven in the rain a few times and I don't think it has ever been driven in the snow. What would it be valued at for insurance purposes? Please find a picture attached. Thanks

The value is kinda hard to set, more so with only one picture. It does look very clean though
A fair market value on the street or local agent may not be what you think it should be, especially to your insurance company if that company doesn't cover classic/modified/antique cars, but it may be worth much more to an old Ford iron lover like me I have an old 61 Rambler that was handed down from my grandfather that I took the plastic dealer installed seat covers off when I got it! ALL original. I have 4 vehicles covered through JC Taylor and the rates are not only comfortable (as long as you meet their driving distance, vehicle age ect to qualify) but you can set the vehicles value (within reason) to a more fair value without it being appraised.. After 25K I think an appraisal is manditory, or used to be. The beauty is that if something happens to the car other than a small dent, it doesnt get totalled.
Here's the link (and there are other carriers/companies) but if the car is just a moderate driver, then it may help get you coverage for what YOU would like to get should something happen...

If you drive your classic everyday, then be sure to get coverage fom a company that will give it the value it deserves, in your mind. I've seen more that a few 'aged' cars get totalled for very small damages.

After years of Chrysler Lebarons and Dodge Diplomats, those were our first Crown Vics. They were great cars too. Ours, at St Pete were weird because they had the variable venturi carbs instead of throttle body injection. The spec writers felt that we mechanics were not smart enough for EFI. Surprise!!!! Dennis
