I have been a Ford man since I was a kid. I teach auto mechanics at a local high school. My first car was a 1973 Gran Torino Sport that I still have. I have been building a Stroker Cleveland engine for it since I was a kid. Poor guys like me have to buy one piece at time! I've finally got it almost done. It's a 1972 block that has had ProGram 4 bolt steel caps installed and line bored and honed. It's bored .030 over. I didn't want to hog it out in case something goes wrong and maybe there will be some meat left there to fix a boo-boo. I am using a SCAT 4340 forged 3.850 crank along with their 6.00 H-beam rods(yeah Chevy rods), and SRP flat top pistons. The heads are 1970 2v with 4v valves intstalled, screw in studs, guideplates, and roller rockers. They have been ported only slightly, basically smoothed up and guide bosses cut out and bronze guides intsalled. I have an Offenhauser Dial-a-port intake to try. If it doesn't work out I have some others I can use. I am hoping for around 385 horsepower, and 425 or so ft-lbs torque. At least that's about what all the computer programs are coming up with for the cam that Competion ground for it. The cam's a little mild, but I wanted low end power. Compression is 9.81:1. It should run ok on pump gas, which is definitely a factor for me.

I just bought my 12 year old son a 1963 1/2 Galaxie fastback. Someone had put a 351 W in the car. It needs lots of work. I've almost got it roadworthy. He asked Santa for a radiator for Christmas! I loved it. We just need some new tires now and we can ride in it. Anyways, nice to meet you guys and I love this site. Glad I found it.
