2000 Ford Escort sohc 2.0 auto ran good then next morning would not start. Timing belt tight and turning. Good spark at plugs. voltage on hot side of injector no ground. Fuel on the rail none on the plug.
What else could it be except the ecu- computer under the dash.
I think the ecu # is YS4F-12A650-TB I have on hand a F8CF-12A650-RD
Will it work. I think it is for 98-99 escort 2.0.
This car had a p1520 dtc code in it. Intake Manifold Runner Control Fault
Took the part of it was free would move. Would this cause the injector not to fire. Thanks for any help.

Usually the IMRC is for performance functions. Not sure if it would affect fuel injection when starting.
The fact that you have no ground signal coming from the PCM could be a PCM problem.
Have you been able to confirm the PCM is getting an RPM signal form the crank sensor so the PCM can send the signal to the injectors?

Not knowing better if it was firing at the plugs the crank sensor was good. How would be the best way to check this. I have been told to replace it. Would like to know how to check this. Thanks

OK, I've said this a million times, and I'll say it again. The reason I make a lot of money at this is because I look for common things.
1) The check engine light should come on when the key is on, engine off (not cranking). Then, when cranking, should go out. After the engine starts, the light will either stay off or go/turn on, depending on if there's a codes stored. I don't care about the rest, just what's happening when cranking.
2) If the light comes on then stays on, then the PCM is NOT seeing RPM.
3) IF the light comes on then goes out, the PCM is seeing RPM as detected by and demodulated by the CKP sensor.
I know it's really complicated, but this is the best way to describe if your car is (in terms of spark/RPM and how it's interpreted by the PCM) seeing what it should to provide some control over engine timing.
This holds true in ALL fords, since the check eng. light came out in the early '90's, and holds today. It also works in most other models (every one I've ever worked on, but I'm sure Aston Martins or Maserati's may be different, as I haven't has any contact with them, dammed it!).
If the light stays on, you could be in trouble. One thing I will mention about Escorts (I've owned and drive every day an identical Escort) is that the ignition system on these MazdaFords are all grounded and the ground is carried out to the battery neg. terminal, which has that goofy block of connectors on it. That's what it's for. These can very, very easily corrode and kill your ignition system.
I would also make sure that you have fuel pressure, as these fuel pumps loved to die all at once, and usually in an inconveinent time.
Please let us know.
