poor acceleration
Hello everyone in Ford land.
This is my first time that i subscribed to a forum but i am in need of you assistance.
I'm trying to help my daughter with a problem on a 2014 Ford Escape 1.6 EchoBoost
and the problem is that a light comes on in the small screen right above the gas and
temperature gauges and at the very top it reads Trip 1 and below that it reads Transmission Fault
Service Now and when this message comes on the car feels to lose acceleration and at times wont go
over 30 mph. I had a P0420 and replaced the sensor 1 but the message still appears, hooped a code
reader but no other codes are present. She needs her car for work and not much money to pay
someone for the work.Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.Bless everyone of you.
By the way I'm in Houston Texas.

Good Morning Fordkuga,
Since the post was from quite a while ago, maybe they will respond and maybe they won't.
It is important to know the year, model and engine in your vehicle as they are not all the same.
It does sound like your vehicle s going into what we call Limp Mode, which is a decision the vehicle computer makes to prevent damage to components or emit excessive pollutants.
Because some procedures are a little lengthy , I always ask if the owner will be doing the work or a shop to prevent writing a long procedure that is not necessary.
Many times the limp mode is cancelled when the ignition is shut down and returns when the computer recognizes the condition again and places the system back into Limp Mode.
So,,,,,,what do we want to do? Thanks.
