Default Power steering

I've got an '01 F350 7.3L diesel. The power steering is not working, but the power brakes are ok. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Some had a vacuum pump for the power brake booster and a separate pump for power steering.

If the level in the power steering reservoir is too low , power steering assist will be lost. The fluid level is checked by removing the top of the reservoir located at the lower driver's side front of the engine . If low it requires special power steering fluid that will stand up to the hi heat generated. It can be purchased at any service station or auto supply store.

Not good to drive with the level low because it can damage the power steering pump assy. Be sure to check for leaks.
