ranger transmission.lost reverse

Default ranger transmission.lost reverse

2003 4liter automatic. 4x4..Ran it a little low on fluid and reverse stopped working. Drained and changed trans filter and added a lucas bottle cond.with no change.How bad did i break this thing?

I know you don't want to do this again, but you might drop the pan and look for a possible broken band/anchor.. Did the 1st removed fluid have a burnt odor? Need those answers before can offer any other hopeful worthwhile suggestions.

Fluid looked and smelled ok.No debris was found in the pan when i took it off.If there is a band or something broken,should there have been some kind foreign objects found?

There is a good possibility one of the solenoids in the trans has gone south.
