Just some guy in the Mid-West.
For the curious, my user ID is a reference to my personalized plate on my 2003 FORD CVPI/P71.
I'm 28 years old at time of this post. I started off driving with a 1983 Chevrolet Caviler Wagon (age 16), to a 1984 Buick Skyhawk (age 17), to a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi (age 20), and now have a 2003 FORD CVPI (age 24).
I was never into cars much, until I got my Eagle Talon TSi AWD. The Buick and Eagle where both 5 speed manual transmissions and is how I learned to drive a stick.
The story of how I got my FORD is quite due to a coincidence of events and another individuals misfortune (better him than me lol).
My dad has worked at the GM dealership for over 30 years, so we always had GM vehicles. My brothers both have Cadillacs and this made me want one. I looked around town and the only one I was interested in happened to be at the used section of the dealership. The day after I told my dad I wanted to test drive the caddy, he went to get the keys to it, only to be told a guy had literally just bought it 3 minutes prior. No other cars interested me at the time. My dad told me about a crown vic that had been recently traded in; I told him I didn't want it because it was an old cop car. My dad talked me into a test drive, and when I took it down the highway there was something about it I liked more that my eagle talon; I ended up getting a loan for the crown vic and have since paid it off and currently own it. The asking price was $4000 for a 5 year old vehicle and my old man got it dropped down to $3400 since he worked there. The car was in excellent condition with no damage, bondo, etc and had been used for transportation duties.
Here's the funny thing: While I had this nice, 5 year old vehicle, the guy who bought the caddy I had wanted turned out to be the guy who traded in the crown vic. To make it even funnier, my dad told me the guy had brought the caddy back the next week and found out it needed about $1500 worth of engine repairs.
I felt like I had doged a lemon bullet and ended up with a deal. Hell, the guy had silver star headlights and a K&N air filter on the car.
I have since gotten into this car quite a bit. Graduating from college recently has left me poor, so I can't afford any upgrades. I can only perform routine maintenance.
Not much else going on right now. I guess 3 days ago I bought a recharge kit for the K&N filter. After cleaning and oiling the dirty filter, the car sounds a little different. I like it.
Hope to see others here in the MidWest post.

Hey my name is Arlene! I go by Arlo907. I have ADHD which makes it easier to look at diagrams than to read and understand what I have read!Im working on a 1998 Ford Taurus at the moment and was wondering if anyone had a diagram of how to install the ABS Sensor and Cable the easiest way!

My E350 460CI has an intermitten miss, I have done all of the tune up parts and fuel filter. I finally took to the dealer and they say i have a bad head. I am having trouble beleiving this do to the fact that it only has 46000 miles on it and runs good other than the miss. The pluggs all looked good when I changed them. any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
