Default dare not go without the Manual:)

Hi Yall,
New to this forum but not to Ford. Over the years when working(retired a few yrs back) had a string of explorers. Favorite being all black V-8 awd all the time. IT was a hoot to drive the paved back roads we have here in coal country.

But to the reason and title i'm here . Just got my 2nd escape. I had a 2014 SE metalic red econoboost 1.5 .That car (for and old guy) was really fun to drive as long as you where careful about torque steer. Turbo spun up quickly and was perfect down size from the last Explorer. Well that was until last Saturday.

I got the red one from my local chevy buick dealer. Why you may ask? Because my 07 Oldsmobile Bravada Titanium ( 98,000 mi) was breathing it's last. Had to replace the xmission X mount ( did not know those things would rust out at least before the trans fell out. )Traded on the way home from md. On a whilm. The nex day, a neighbor( from. the other end of the block) knock on the door to give me a welcome basket.( been at this location for 15 yrs, she saw the different vehicle figure somebody new move in:) What happens when you keep the same vehicle almost 15 yrs. LOL Anyway back to the issue.

This same dealer was not fond of used Fords on his lot, remembered me , called up out of the blue wanted to know if i may be interested, told him had not thought about it but politely asked would ii come over and look at it( about 2 mi away) Got in Red and Dejavu battery dead. Dealor comes to pick me. up. Pulled in and there sat the most gorgeous Blackk on black 2017 Escape Titanium. Polished looks like it had never been driven. only 30,000 ml. did not have moon roof or the gadget trim(self parking assist, lane drift. ect) 1.5 econoboost Not quite as quick as the red but still a good giddy up. Inside more room and a plethora of gadgets which is why(finally to the point) i carry the manual with me.
For the life of me ICan not figure the SYNC 3 . Read where they no longer had a fee ((wish sirus radio did this) can't afford the $30 now thati I have retired.
Read were to use navigatiom had to add an antenna. Had to download several apps.. So I have tried to find out thru all of the blogs and youtube ect and you guys are the last.

Joined My Ford,Fordpass, still confused. Found how to lower brightness of screen (bit intense for night driving) So can any one fill a person iin on some of these? Have phone paired. have a thumb drive ready with SYNC update*
( via my ford) not sure of the phone functions, This SYNC is a lot more complex than the SYNC 3 in the other escape.Found the sticker( good grief, 32.000! so pretty sure I do not have any of the gadjets ) group 300A Do have the 18 " sparkle wheels with 235/50R18 wheels and nave system, You know it is always amazing how auto companies have a completely different vocabulary. lie cross traffic warning, liftgate, ect. Thanks yall for any pointing me in the right directon. Those fobs take some getting used to. Accidently poping the" lift gate" late at night in the rain, then could not find how to close it. later drying off, I found it) anyway thanks, and hello Glad to be here!

New to the forum...Love my 2017 Explorer but hate the Ford map system. 2020 update and my neighborhood was built in 2014 and it still can't find where I live.

new to this site. refugee from expeditionforum.com.
i have a 2004 Expy 4x4 XLT SSV (police package). it was a very low mileage firetruck when i bought a couple of years ago; it has about 106000 miles on it now.
I installed 285/75/17 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires on it. they're 33.8" inches diameter, adding about 1.1" ground clearance. I have not checked that with a ruler, yet. they clear completely at all turn angles on the street - haven't been off road yet. from what i read, I expected to have to do some trimming but none was needed - perhaps the police suspension was lifted? there's a picture in my gallery.
I installed an SCT Livewire TS+ tuner, but their customer "support" turns out to be a bad joke. I would not recommend buying from them. Once they have your money, they don't know you.
I love this truck; it's huge, comfortable and fast. it looks like a small barn blasting down the highway when I put my foot in it. it gets worse mileage than a battleship, though.
I just had the transmission fail so it's in the shop for what will turn out to be a very expensive repair. Oh, well. such is life.

update: the failed tranny took the rear axle with it... 4500 bux later and we're on the road again.

former firetruck command vehicle

Default 2007 E-250 van

Hello,

Anyone have any ideas for a CB antenna mount for a van? My van is a conversion van with a fiberglass top. I'm thinking the mount and antenna have to be non-grounded to the body. If you know anything about CB radios I would like to hear from you.

Hello, Thanks for welcoming me in. Ive always been a Tundra guy (18 years), bit my son has been a salesman for a large Ford dealership for quite awhile and he twisted my arm just enough to get me into a superduty F250 Lariat Tremmor. So far its been one hell of a truck. I hope to use this site to learn about it and what other people are experiencing.
