Default What vehicles have you owned?

I'm 21, about ready to start med school and here's what I've owned in my few short years through high school and college to present:

5.5HP offroad go cart: 2006
1999 Honda Accord: 2006-2010
1995 Chevy Camaro Z28 (sold cuz of CA smog when I moved here 5 months ago....*&^%$): 2010-2011
1974 Datsun 260z (restoration project): 2010-present
1993 Dodge Shadow (rebuilt tranny myself to make a few hundred bucks): 2011-2011
1979 Datsun 280zx (260z donor car): 2011-2011
1994 Ford Ranger: 2011-present
1972 Ford Mustang Grande Coupe (restoration project/daily driver): 2011-present

Wow, typing that out, I owned a lot of cars in 2011. 0.o My wife calls me a car ****. Sadly....it's true.

I should preface my remarks by indicating I had a business that restored, frame up, nothing but British Motor Cars.
There is no money in cars. We went belly up.

My first car bought in 1966 or 1967, was a 1962 Buff colored two door Ford Fairlane 500, 160 cu in in line six, three on the tree, for $150.00. later a 1963 red Dodge Dart GT convertible with black top, later a white top, 225 slant six, push button automatic. Over the years about 16 or so VW's of various body styles, including a cam back, a 21 window bus, and a dune buggy made from a 1959 bug. As time went on, I added a rear independent swing axle and built up engines eventually into a 2175 cc pan cake fire breathing engine. A couple of Austin Healeys, two I put Ford 289's into. A couple of Rabbits, a 1957 CJ-3A Jeep, one a GTI, an Opel GT, 1966 Ford Fastback, a 1976 XJ-12C Jaguar, Chevy 1977 Chevy step-side lowered and made into a tow vehicle for the SCCA race cars from Show Room 'A' Capri, later a 'C' Toyota to 'A' Sports race home built. Then odds and ends after that. A 1996 VW Wasserboxer van Syncro [AWD], A 1953 French Hotchkiss coupe front wheel drive with suicide doors, a 1930 Ford Model 'A', still have that 'A', and...more. I worked as a 'wash boy' at Kuanz in Lake Forest, Illinois, had a BMW 2002 tii...that was before BMW's became un~cool and way too expensive. Kuanz was a BMW, MB, Chrysler, Ferrari, and Alfa Romeo dealership. I got to drive the cars from the dock in Chicago or Indiana back to the dealership. Oh BOY!! what fun. Oh a 1967 Norton 850 Commando, 1973? Yamaha 650 [black tank], 1977 Yamaha 750 shaft. A couple of Citroen's MS, a 1977 Saab EMS, and I forget the rest.

skip.

Our 1954~AH-100-4 with a little Ford nicely tucked in. Yes it does it all.
Nothing special. Just well founded. The sound will make you cream your genes.
Luv's the wind screen. And the optional 82 spoke wire wheels.

'Ziggy' the sable colored, 1976 XJ 12-Coupe Jaguar. 152 mph at 7,550 rpm on the Toll Road between Chicago and [NIU] DeKalb, Illinois. Rolled the power on, rolled the power off, hit the limits, set the cruse at 65 mph for the rest of the trip. Bought it as a 'roller, [not running] 1980 for $5000. Sold it for $17,500 2003.

Resurrected thread comes through my email updates, ha!

Dang Skip, did you go through enough cars? lol. Huge fan of Opel cars. They're so awesome! Kinda like my Datsun 260z in handling.

BMW R26 Blue....That's an awesome, classic bike.

The fuel bowl drip is the result of the proper cold start procedure near freezing and below: hold down the float until at least 5 ml of fuel run down the gear box, choke on, ignition on, throttle 25% open, crank over by putting your whole body weight on the kickstarter! It took me a month to get the hang of it.

Like the Norton. Push the rods attached to the cork in the fuel bowls and splash some fuel near the air inlet of the carbs and hope for the best. Usually get launched over the handle bars. Gotta love British motor anythings.
