Hi, I'm really hoping someone out there will see this and have a little more input on what I need to do to my car. I have a 2002 Mercury Sable, 3.0 engine. I recently had it scanned and here are the codes I received....
P1702, P1401, PO705. I have changed the DPFE Sensor and the Trans Range Sensor, what do I do next? My car is running on to high of RPM's. When I'm going 55 mph the RPM's are 3000, when I'm going 40 mph the RPM's are 2000. I know there is a problem somewhere. The transmission also shifts to hard. Anyone have any advice on what to do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

Sounds like your car is locked in 2nd gear Or L2. Is the range sensor adjusted properly?
The dash indicator may be saying D, but the range sensor may be in L2.,,,,,hanky
