Default 4R100 Problem.

2000 7.3 4R100. Does anyone know the fluid flow of this trans? I know the torque converter pushes the fluid through the cooler, but where does it go once it gets back to the transmission? Does it go to the pan or through the geartrain? My torque converter locked up and I have fine metal shavings in my pan. I'm wondering if that metal went through the trans or just back into the pan.

Welcome to the site..

Missed your post,
If the TQ came apart it would send debris into the trans,, the front pump circulates fluid into the cooler and back through the trans return into the pan..
