cruiseomatic and green dot dual range transmission
Regarding the dual range transmissions when put in L at a certain speed the transmission drops into second and when the car drops below a certain speed the tranny drops into first and stays there. But when in L(second gear) is it possible to get a kickdown shift to first without the vehicle slowing to the speed where it automatically downshifts to first in L? Back in the 70s I had a friend who let me drive his 59 T-bird but after this many years I can't remember how the tranny worked. I do remember his car had an under the dash bellows vacuum brake assist. I never asked him if it was an add on booster. Thanks, Paul.
