rebuilt my 1995 E40D 5.8l Having shift issues shifts good 1st to 2nd no third if i selct Cancel OD shifts to third once up to speed turn on OD shift but no engagement? also if i place in manual 1st or 2nd acts as if the brake is on can force to move not good place in D, 1st 2nd good any input would be helpful.

 

Think n check ball locations. Separator plate gaskets were part number/ matched to OE?
But, when you tightened the shift cam lever to the shift shaft, did you secure the shaft and not tighten against the location tab/roller? Had something similar and the spring arm was bent and it allowed the spool valve to be in/out of proper location causing drag and shift issues.
