1999 Ford Windstar brake pedal problem.
Hello Ford Forum members,
I have a 99 Windstar and was wondering if anyone can help me.
When I drive my van under 10mph the brake pedal pulsates,
and seems like it dis-engages, then re-engages to fully stop the van.
It doesn't do it all the time, but still would like to know what's causing the problem.
I just had the rear drums replaced yesterday, due to my mechanic says that was the problem. Appearntly that wasn't the problem!!
Thank you.

It is probably a situation where a rotor has developed thickness variation. Dirt on the rotor could also be an issue.
Sometimes these new drums go out of round, in particular the cheaper drums.
I would give them a few more heat cycles, then take it back to the mechanic. He can use a gauge to measure both, drums and rotors and give the rotors a cleaning.
I use Wagner parts. Even those may go out of round.
