2003 Windstar fixed!
I have a 2003 Windstar that I bought two years ago with 140,000 miles on it. Last year the check engine light came on, but it continued to run fine. Later, the check engine light would flash at high speed. It also didn't have the power it was supposed to have. It got worse fuel milage.
I finally took it to an O'Reilly's to have it put on a scan tool. This gave the P0171 & P0174 codes (lean fuel mixture on both right and left banks). After checking this out on the internet, I decided to replace the Isolator grommets. We also worked on the catylitic convertors. This helped it, but didn't quite fix the problems.
I replaced the spark plug wires, and no longer had the check engine light on, but it was still using too much gas, and wouldn't start after a rain. Today I replaced the ignition coil, and it seems to be running like a new one, even though it now has 194,000 miles on it!
Hope this will be a help to anyone else having problems with their Windstar.
