On my 98 Windstar van, when I close the rear door (hatch in the rear), the 'Door Ajar' indicator light sometimes stays on along with the interior lights (interior lights until I reach ~15mph then the lights go out). But the door ajar light continues to stay on - sometimes for a short time, sometimes for days.
I see no pushbutton type switch anywhere around that hatch door. How/where does it sense whether or not the hatch is closed?

I am curious, how do you know that it is the rear hatch door and not one of the others?

My Door Ajar light is on all the time, have not figured out yet which door it is. Appears not to be the sliding doors as the turn indicators in the mirrors go off immediately after closing the sliding doors.

On the rear hatch, there are 2 plastic sliders, 1 on each side. Are those the switches?
