They are aftermarket pistons with valve reliefs for large intake valves probably with a high lift cam.IMHO

thnx. also i have these lifters. any idea what kind they may be. and is there a way to measure lift by how much of the lifter is above the lifter bore. i mean is there a standard hight so i can compare.

the one on the right is OEM the left is aftermarket. it says L900

Default RE: camshaft lift

No those are regular flat tappet hydraulic lifters,in order to obtain cam lift/duration you will need to id the cam model and make, then you can get the spec sheet,it more than likely be a ford cam and have a letter stamped on the front where the cam gear mounts.
