carb question

Default carb question

i have install in my 68 fairlane 302 a holley carb list number 6160-1 and type 4160 vac secondaries, but i not able to tune it and another problem whe a push the accelerator to the top with the brake, as soon as I take of the accelerator the engine dies any ideas

It sounds like you're doing a brake torque (holding down gas and brake at same time) and leaving off the gas and it stalls? Leaving off in a brake torque will cause stalling. What size primary jets do you have in the carburetor? If the engine is getting too much gas your exhaust will run black and you could solve it with smaller jets. If the engine runs a little hot it could be the jets are a little small - that you could solve with bigger jets.

another thing when a close the shock but no completley the engine dies
