1992 ford econoline exhaust with cat
Good evening folks does anyone not if i can alter exhaust after the cat.. i.e i want to haveside exit exhaust 1 each side and was wondering if this is going to affect proformence and reliability the engine 5litre v8 ... any advice would be appreciated as not really experienced with cat exhaust systems many thanks in advance ....

It will not affect performance.
The idea is to not direct any heat from the exhaust pipe , which gets pretty hot, near the fuel tank.
Some vehicles have fuel tanks midship and some in rear also.
When manufactured, the manufacturer usually provides some heat shielding to prevent the heat from the hot pipe getting too close to the gasoline.
That could be a problem.
