If you can't locate an OEM fuel pump, there is nothing wrong with an aftermarket fuel pump made in the USA.

I did, it was a Delphi fuel pump purchased new that was defective giving low pressure. Let's hope the new one holds up.

If we start at the fuel pump, do you have full 12+ volts at the fuel pump ? Is the ground clean and tight ?

Does vehicle have 2 fuel tanks ?

Of not, check spark plugs for being wet with a leaking injector.

2x now I've checked the spark plugs, all looking fine. 1 tank. 12.9v confirmed at pump running.

Could there be a problem with your gauge ?

If you can clamp off the return at the pressure regulator, you should see all that the pump can put out.

Where are you obtaining your parts ?

I obtain oem parts when I can, and made in USA at the least. I am limited to obtaining parts from where they are still available, anywhere from parts geek, Walmart, Ford, ebay, etc. Regulator and iac parts geek, fuel pump Walmart, maf ebay, etc. I always be sure they are new and aren't knockoff. I'll attempt to find which is the return hose to clamp next week. Aren't they metal?
Tonight I'll see if I see any jumping sparks anywhere in the dark. Also just got a Adjustable Spark Coil-on Tester and will test each plug.
The guage is from my mechanic. I wouldn't know if his guage was wrong but anything is possible I guess.

Another mechanic diagnosed all day and thinks it is the Ignition Pickup Coil. I had the coil done thinking it was done already but he says it's different. Now where do I find a motorcraft one and do you agree this could be it?
I found one made by Wells. Then the mechanic asked for me to get it all and one assembled unit which i don't understand what to look for.

Fail to see connection of pick up coil to low fuel pressure..

Until the problem of why the pressure is so low is found and resolved, that needs to be eliminated before moving to anything else.

I would consider renting another fuel pressure testing gauge to eliminate that possibility..

You could wind up replacing a lot of good parts with a defective test unit..

Sorry I didn't mention Supposedly the fuel filter caused the low pressure and he claims it is now showing 35. I dont know if he is jerking me around and his guage was off becasue i dont see how a clogged filter could make the pressure stop at 23. What are your thoughts? Supposedly something was even raddling inside the old fram filter 1.5 years old. He took it apart and it didn't look dirty to me. Inside the tank, that where the old pump was replaced was found pictured. But the pre filter on the pump would have screened these out right? They right away melt when touched.
