Hello all, new guy here. Just looking for some suggestions if anyone can.


So, need new motor, someone drove it for years without changing the oil, then ran it out if oil...... pulled valve cover and sludge like ive never seen, ill post pics, have already pulled the engine, been hard to find replacement, scrap yards have nothing and ebay is pretty scares, any suggestions?


Is it possible to take a long block or short block from say a crown vic or something and just swap all the parts?

If the 8th digit of your VIN matches the 8th digit of the supply vehicle, you might try it.

 

I need to know for sure. If that's not possible then there is a longblock from fordpartsgiant but its 5k and they won't respond whether it's in stock
