2010 E250 help! filling up then shutting off!!!
hey guys gotta issue,
ive got a 2010 E250 with the 4.6 in it. everytime i fill it up at the gas station, whether it be from empty or just toppng off, as soon as you start the van up it looses RPM and stalls out immediately, then you must crank it for about 15 seconds while feathering the gas pedal till it catches, but if you let off the throttle it stalls, so you have too tach it out for about 15 seconds as soon as it catches and then its fine, until you fill it up again ofcourse. already replaced tpms and camshaft position sensor, and van doesnt throw any codes. really racking my brain with this so any help would be apprecited.
thanks,
blaine

When filling the tank with fuel the vapors are supposed to go through a carbon canister where they get trapped and the pressure is released out through a vent valve.
When certain conditions are met a purge valve opens to remove and burn those collected vapors in the engine. When that purge valve hangs up or sticks open those vapors get into the intake and kinda flood the engine with gasoline. It might be a good idea to check the operation of that purge valve which should be closed until those certain conditions (right rpm, engine temp, and speed etc) are present.
