2018 E 350 Super Duty Oil Change Intervals
Hello all, I have a 2019 Thor Freedom Elite 22 FE with a 2018 E350 Super Duty V10 6.8 l engine. Wondering if I change the oil with the Motorcraft Full Synthetic. At what intervals should I change it. Or is it not worth it and stay with the Synthetic Blend. Also want to know the interval of changing with this oil. Manual says change every 7,500 miles. Dealer says to change the synthetic blend every 5,000 miles. So not sure of the info given to me. I am using iRV part time. Maybe 10 trips a year. Short one mostly weekenders. I usually don't reach the 7,500 in a year. Not mechanically inclined so asking for some input
There will probably be a few different opinions here, so you might need to decide.
I would suggest that you stay with the recommended blend for around 15-20 thousand miles then switch to full synthetic if you choose.
Depending on the temps where you reside , changing oil and filter in spring and fall might work fine. also a good idea to replace the fuel filter at those times also.

So you are saying change oil every six months . Even though I don't reach in miles. Keep synthetic blend till I reach 20,000?
That is what I would do.
Finding that synthetic oil is something else as far as reducing friction and wear , rings need to have time to seat(conform) to the cyl bore.
Syn oil is so good it takes so long for the rings to seat. That is why I would use the syn blend for a few thousand miles hopefully the rings will eventually seat well.
Oil consumption should drop. Then switch to full synthetic and hope I live as long as the engine. I have seen this a few times now and maybe it will work for you.
