5R110W transmission fluid level cold?
5R110W in a 2009 E-350 former Ryder boxvan... Could someone please do me a big favor and check where on the dipstick their 5R110W COLD fluid level is on level ground AFTER 2 minutes of IDLING IN PARK (without moving the gear selector).
The reason for the 2 minutes is that external coolers and lines can vary and can drain back into the pan.
(If there is a way that gives much more consistent results, such as the more standard way of moving through all the gear positions before taking the reading, that is fine also. I just want applies-to-apples, whichever procedure that might be.)
Reason for this: Stupidly, I did a fluid change on a van I bought without checking that first and used a scale to weigh how much fluid came out and put back in "the same weight" only to discover that the scale can give wildly inconsistent results.
Thanks!!!
(Not looking for readings without idling the engine as external coolers etc can drain back into the pan. Yes, the dipstick has a "cold" mark, but if you have read this far, you already know that it does not answer my question.)

Sorry, I have never heard of weighing the fluid.
After a fluid and filter change ,you add the same quantity fluid as you drained out
Start the engine and just wait for the fluid to warm up and expand ,then with engine running in park check the fluid level on the dipstick.
There may be a full mark or just a line with an arrow pointing to the full line. If it needs addl fluid add half pints at a time and recheck. Not good to overfill !

Ryder has a very good maintenance program and does take very good care of their vehicles.
When sold, they had to have at least 50% or better rubber on them.
Don't know if they still use"A", "B" and "C" inspections on EVERY vehicle.
