Default 88 e150 fuel pump problem

When I turn the key on the pumps run continuously and still dont think they build up enough pressure. I have a fuel pressure tester but I don't have the right fitting to fit this ford van. This model has 2 fuel pumps, one in the tank and one on the frame rail, and they are both working. There is fuel and some pressure on the schrader valve at the rail and it did run yesterday but it wont start today. Just wondering where to proceed with this diagnosis. I checked out the fuel pressure regulator on the rail and there was no fuel present after taking that vacuum hose off.

If you removed one or two spark plugs and look at them when it won't start.
They could be either wet or dry.

We need to know which condition is present.

That will tell us if fuel is getting into the combustion chamber or not.

Thanks everybody that looked at this but problem solved. It was the rear tank fuel pump, or a bad check valve in it. The pump was working but it would pump fuel right back in the tank. Wouldn't build up pressure. Thanks again
