A bad diode in the alternator will throw up a code P0340 leading you to go after a camshaft sensor when it is the alternator that has the problem.

The code that is coming up is p1309 but when I replace the cam sensor I then get a cam code the vechicle runs like crap. But as soon a I out the original back on its fine but comes up with p1309. Would the p1309 be caused by alternator?
