Hanky could you help with this one? My 99 e350 w/7.3 won't start in the morning, once I give it shot of starting fluid it fires right up. I'll take it to the job site and leave there for the day, when it's time to leave it fires right up again. The next morning nothing. I'm thinking glow plugs or the fuel heater element.
Any advice would be much appreciated!!

A common problem with starting in cold weather is the glow plug relay. It is nestled near the top back of the engine and you can identify it with 2 heavy gauge wires connected to it. If you have either a test lite or voltmeter there should be battery voltage on the feed terminal at all times and when the key is turned on the relay should click and close the internal contacts which now provide power to the glow plugs. That would be my first suggestion to check.

Thanks Hanky I'll look for that and put a meter on it to check it. I greatly appreciate you getting back to me so soon!
I'll let you know what happens.
