O.K. - Have removed the tranny - BTW-It's an 4R100 - not E40D like I originally thought.

Mechanics EARN their money.

Dropped it off at a local rebuilder who is going to have a look beginning Mon. (bigger shop said around $2,000) Ouch! That's with the "friend" discount as the manager is a neighbor.

Need to source a new cooler. I'm hoping the rebuilder will replace the TC.

Usually its part of a rebuild to either exchange or flush the TC. You don't have to replace the cooler, just flush it out good.

Even the case needs replacing!

With this much damage... I think I'll go ahead & replace the cooler after flushing out the lines. The rebuilder will be replacing / repairing the TC.
