Unhappy crimped transmission lines on a 2001 e250

the jack slipped while i was jacking it up, and hit the transmission inter cooler lines. yayyyyy. its just crimped in a tiny spot. i think i can definitely get away with using a double flare union on each line instead of replacing them. i was wondering what was the diameter of the lines? so i can find a union and a flare tool.

It very likely is METRIC.
Since you need to know the size and cut out a piece for the union, take that piece with you to the auto supply place. You will need a tubing cutter and flaring tool to handle METRIC.
Would not want to gamble on the size, could be wrong !
Good,,,,, auto supply stores will have what you need. You might get the size from a dealership parts dept, don't know..
Some auto supply stores will deliver.

the only thing im concerned about is cutting off a piece and the trans fluid going everywhere and getting wasted.

also the jack didn't really slip either, the seal in one of the pumps failed and shot fluid out causing a rapid and spontaneous shift of the van. im really glad i didn't get hurt and the jack jussst missed the starter so im glad the bell housing/starter is ok. it also JUSTTTT kisssed the oil pan and scratched it. all in all thank god im ok and that i put the tire under the cross member.

When you get ready to cut the tubing, just place a clean pan/container under the area and collect what you can. It will only drain the trans cooler, no big deal..If the collected fluid is clean, you may be able to reuse it.
Again depending on if you can disconnect from the cooler, that will make part of the flaring job easier. Don't know if they use a double flare, but you should !
Make sure you get the flaring tool kit that has the pieces to perform a double flare, they are much stronger.
If you take your time , you will make out just fine especially with Gramps there to assist. lol.

If you can,,,,try making a flare or two practice makes BETTER.
