E85 Fuel
Hi all,
i recently purchased a used 2104 E-250 with 180k miles. Runs great! It is a flex fuel vehicle and I was considering using E85 Fuel to save a few bucks. Assuming the vehicle has always run on regular gasoline, would it be a bad idea to switch to Ethanol now? Could it cause damage or harm the van? Lastly, if I were to switch, would I just wait until the tank is practically completely empty and then fill? I appreciate your feedback and responses.

It won't harm anything short term but I would expect a somewhat decrease in performance.Long term, items like the fuel pump and injectors may suffer the effects of the increase in alcohol content in the fuel. Myself, I would stick with fuel having 10 percent or less of alcohol content.
Suggest you get hold of an owner's manual for your vehicle ,and understand just what you can and cannot do.
When you switch , you will have to drive the vehicle a few miles for the system to adapt to the different fuel, which it does automatically.
