Hi all, hoping to hear from some folks familiar with ford econolines. looking at an early 2000s e350. Seller says the frame rotted at the steering box and required a patch “like all of the econoline vans”. The rest of the frame seems solid. Wondering if this is common and a complete remedy or something to steer clear from.

 

Some shops will reinforce the weak portions of a frame, but others are not willing to accept responsibility for any problems, so the object is to find a shop that knows what needs to be done and can do it.
