can i pull this engine out the top

AeroSteeler,

I am of the unwashed here, not having pulled the Escape's engine, others however. I do not see that it could be dropped. I also remember reading here of the extraction from above.

I need to put a new engine in our 2002 Escape (v-6) the manual says that its done by dropping it out the bottom. Can it be pulled out the top ?
