Angry 2003 Ford escape Transmission not engaging

Originally it wouldn't shift into 3rd gear then just became worse and worse.

I change the following:
- Solenoid Assembly.
- Neutral safety switch.(the switch is moving shifting through P N D R 12
- The transmission oil is clean.

- The linkage is shifting,
- I can shift through gears P, N. but cant get the transmission to engage ( drive, reverse 1,2)
- In neutral I can push the car and in park it wont move.
- It starts fine.
- No error codes are displaying

Any Ideas?

Any help appreciated!!!

Thanks

Without running some pressure checks,
If, a particular speed is affected, it could involve a few things.

Since all trans operation/movement is affected it would lead me to be suspicious of a torque converter problem.
The trans does need to be removed to replace the torque converter, but the trans does not need to be disassembled .
Somethings to keep in mind are the mileage, vehicle condition, how long you want to keep it and of course $$$. A reman trans is the best way to go if the above items are good. It is the most expensive path. Then is the trans rebuilder, costs less , usually works , but not always with better guaranty or updated trans.
The other option is a used trans and it's history is not always known, but is the lowest price wise.

Default 2003 Escape

The escape transmission won't engage at all. Do you think it will need to be rebuilt or new transmission? It has about 170,000 miles on it.
Thoughts?

From this side of the internet we can only assume the tranny needs to be checked by a qualified shop. As noted they check line pressure. "maybe" it is just some bad solenoid inside the valve body...or failed clutch packs. 170k mi...getting up there on miles. Clean fluid suggests clutch packs may be good and this could be just a electrical solenoid problem

A tranny shop could advise on problem and repair costs...
