Hello,

Having some issues with the key for my 2008 ford escape. The remote signals from the key fob no longer work. I have tried changing the key battery, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but neither have worked. It's a relatively new battery 3-4 months old so that's not the issue.

Also the physical key won't open the door so i can no longer lock the vehicle.

Has anyone had similar experiences and successfully fixed the problem ? Even if I could get the physical key working I could lock the vehicle internally. I read online that it might be something to do with the code panel on the side of the vehicle.

Any help would be appreciated!

 

Until we check and know for sure, what is the door lock assy on the driver's door doing? If it is in a possible half way position or hanging up due to lack of lubrication?

Until we know that we can't move on to why it may or may not be responding to the proper signals .

 

Thanks for the response. The car locks with the manual lock button inside the vehicle so I don't think the physical lock is the issue.

 

Keep in mind that when you move the part manually , there is a big difference from the solenoid having to move it.
