Hi - I bought an extra 5 button keyfob for my 2014 Ford Escape 2.0 Titanium. Push button start. I changed the battery as was recommended on a video.
I have watched two different videos on how to program it with the two original keyfobs that still work but am not having any luck.
One video talks about a "pocket" in the center console under the cigarette lighter. There is nothing under mine. There is a shelf next to it that's a built in cubby. I tried placing the new keyfob in there in multiple ways and even the small space above the cigarette lighter/power port, and tried the unlocking x3, brake, locking x3, brake, press power ignition button. None of that worked.
On the steering column there is a picture of a key with circle lines around it. I held it next to that several ways and doing the above procedure, that didn't work either. I think this is where we put the remote if the remote battery is dead to get the car started.
We double checked that we put the new battery in correctly and that it has proper voltage. Picture is of my remote type. This is my original one.
Any help is appreciated.

I also could not get a 2014 Escape Titanium with a IAK (Intelligent Access) key and push button start programmed either with the door unlock x 3 ... lock sequence. I tried the various locations suggested on line as you did. Manual states contact a dealer and other online sources state it's a no go for 2014 with owner done easy programming. I was subsequently able to get an additional 2 remotes programmed with an Autel MX808S-TS scan tool after many tries. Not sure the proper place for the key coding, couldn't find it in the factory service manual but eventually seemed to work holding the key vertically with push buttons facing the front of the car at the slot for starting with a dead IAK key on the steering column. Not sure though that the location is why it finally took. Tried the center cubby shelf that you took a picture of and center cupholder as well unsuccessfully. Had also removed the manual key from the fob. I had 2 of the original keys in the car.
Additional keys were programmed as add ons and not the delete and reprogram all keys option; so maybe that's why the new additional keys don't appear as administrator keys. But who cares as they work for all functions including remote start and the original administrator keys are now backups safe in a drawer. A free program called Forscan that's run from a PC with a ~$35 OBD II connector cable is reported to have coded keys for this model and year as well. You'd have to google it.
