Default Hotspot range

I have a 2018 Escape on order. It has a hotspot feature. Does anyone know what the range is? Will it work in a house near the car? If not, is there any way to boost the signal? (I have a wifi signal booster, but it requires a WPS button on the router to pair it.)

I spoke to the company that makes my repeater(Keewifi Kisslink). It looks like it is pretty simple, just place it in a house window, turn it on and log on to it with laptop, etc.
My remaining question is how to keep it on for hours (or days?) without running down the battery. (It's probably not good to leave the vehicle in ignition mode for long periods of time, either) I can plug in a battery charger to keep the battery topped off. A somewhat drastic alternative is to rewire so the hotspot electronics(Sync 3?) power is switched over to an external power supply.
