I've got this 2007 Escape Hybrid that I'm trying to sell for my friend. The battery is dead. Needs to be replaced. I hate to spend upwards of $200 on a new battery for a car that isn't worth a whole lot to begin with.

Are used car batteries available, and is that a good idea? Or do I have to just bite the bullet and get a new battery?

 

You might check around, some service stations just might have a used battery hanging around.
