Default Need help.

I was driving to work this morning and out of nowhere my car shut off. The radio kept playing and when I tried to start it again it doesn't even crank. I checked the fuses, battery, starter and alternater. Engine did not seize and it is not an anti-theft measure. I hooked up my scan tool and it won't connect. Any advice would be appreciated.

It would help if we knew what you are driving ie. year, model, engine etc.

Exactly what does your scan do or show? Any display?

03 ford escape 6 cylinder. The scanner comes up with a link error. When I looked into it I found that it means my cars computer isn't communicating properly or not at all.

This could be caused by a shorted sensor problem.
What you might try is to unplug the various sensors, (throttle position, ABS, MAF, CTS, IAT, CKP, CMP, VSS (START WITH THESE) while watching your scan tool when you unplug the defective sensor you should see the tool begin to start communicating.Do one at a time and if no change plug it back together and go on to the next one.
