Default after market radio/cd install kit

What's the best aftermarket cd/radio install kit out there for a 2000 Escort ZX2? (Metra, etc.) I've got a Pioneer cd player to install and need to replace the factory radio/face plate.
Thanks for any input...

Your best bet is probably just to go to a local car stereo shop, like Hi-Fi Buys, etc. They should have an installation plate and harness adapter for your particular application. These items are usually around $10-25 each, depending on where you shop.

these adapters are costly from a stereo install shop. The one to get is the metra. The metra unit is made considerably better than the scosche/American International. The lighting is an indiglo light and looks good at night, the scosche unit, not so much

pro-tip: remove the temp control cable as an assembly by unscrewing the white clip from the factory radio. Do not separate the cable from the clip
