Default no ac bad ccrm?

i got a 2000 ford escort zx2 the ac stopped working and i was trying to diagnose the issue and ran a wire from the positive of the battery to the (red i think) wire coming off the ac compressor and when i hooked the wire up the engine died (later found out i beleive thats the ground for the ac compressor) after doing some research online i thought i fried the ccrm and went to oreileys and bought a new one came home and installed it and car still doesnt crank and the new ccrm is making a buzz noise when the key is at the on position also while trying to crank the car the rpm guage acts crazy please help!

Before spending any more $$$ , how about you check all the connections from the battery to the rest of the vehicle.

First I would remove the ground cable from the battery then proceed to check the connections from the positive post to where ever the positive side powers anything including the fuse panels. Just looking at them does nothing ! You need to disconnect/ remove them , clean them and reinstall them. That is why electrical problems are so expensive to have repaired,, it is work !
After you finish the positive side do the same thing to the negative side. With the ground cable disconnected you will not do any welding should you make contact with the wrong parts.
What evidently happened when you placed a load on the elec system ,power was denied to keep the engine running and the weak spot (poor connection) could be anyplace and that is why you have to start at the beginning and go from there. If you had a meter you could locate the bad connection much quicker doing voltage drop testing.
If you would , we all would like to know where the problem area was, thanks.
