Ford Excursion So the size of the Expedition is not enough for you, then the massive Excursion is the way to go. With options including a powerful diesel engine, the Excursion is like a tractor trailer built for family use.

Default Got my dream truck

Always wanted an excursion. Just got an 00 Excursion with 230k on it. V10. Would’ve liked the diesel but this V10 is in great shape. I’m posting on here to see if anyone has advise on caring for this beast motor besides basic Maintenance. Looking for a set of hoops for her. I just changed the alternator and battery and she purrs. I’ll be posting pics and updating as I build it. Best 500 bucks I’ve ever spent an a vehicle.

Welcome to the site..

500? Smoke’n deal if it’s in decent shape.
Any repair/maint docs to support its service life?
6.8 is a good platform, other than its love for fueling stations...

You’re not kidding. My father says it’ll pass anything except a gas station. She didn’t come with any physical paperwork for repairs but they are available from the dealer. I just put some money into it. Still have a lot to do to her but as of now she went from under a tree for 3 years to 4 commuter trips to and from Philadelphia. About 45-50 miles each way. Not a great commuter vehicle but after almost being seriously hurt in a 2016 Quest, I’d rather pay premium fuel prices and keep myself and my family safe. Here’s a list of the things I did to get it road worthy:

Steering Box

Steering pressure line

Front brake pads

Front brake rotors

Rear brake pads

Rear brake rotors

1 caliper in the front

1 caliper in the back

Brake line from abs to the back

Rear brake hose

Both front brake hoses

Front brake lines

Front hub locks

Tie rods

Drag link

Upper ball joints

Lower ball joints

Front steering stabilizer

Rear u bolts and u bolt plates

Windshield

Alternator

Battery

Cup holder

Headlight switch

Left rear door handle

Air filter

All 4 tires and the spare tire

Rim

One tail light

Both headlight assembly’s

Front shocks

Rear shocks

Oil change

Fuel filter

Gas cap

Alignment

Front end links

Front sway bar bushings

Passenger side window motor

A/c recharge

Fuel Filler Neck

Cat back - Flowmaster 40 series and tailpipe
