Transmission bulkhead connector
I'm sure there are many folks out there that have experienced their 2010 Expedition intermittently marking its spot like an old Harley -but with transmission fluid. It started just after the warranty ran out -go figure.
So when it sits for a few day or on a very slight incline i get i nice puddle of red. Crawled underneath, yep, its that stupid bulkhead connector. No doubt its those crappy o-rings that have failed (on a non moving part). 30 cents worth of o-rings will coast me $420 to $500 to repair???? Yes i went to 3 different local dealers and got yes..., 3 different prices. I thought this odd since they are all working from the same BS pricing list.
Besides, if there is a TSB out there then its happened enough to be a manufacturing defect -but noooooo, i gotta pay for crappy quality. My dealer should suck it up and get Ford to cover it. Maybe Ford is but the dealers are not telling me, anyone know?

Since it is out of warranty, if you have a good shop close by , they should be able to handle that job . All that is involved is to remove the pan and filter, remove the plug and pull out the tube with the "O" rings on it. Install the service replacement "O" rings and assemble . The most expensive part of this may be the special fluid that should be purchased from Ford. Might pay to shop around. I wouldn't go to just any ole shop or fast service joint !!
If you never had the trans serviced this is a good time to do it.

Thanks for the TSB. I had seen this and a couple videos out there. I'm mechanically inclined but not wanting to do this one in my garage since not having a lift handicaps me. Its a little messy too. Its just frustrating that Ford isn't standing behind their products especially when i am a multiple return customer. Plus, getting 3 different price quotes makes me weary of the commish the service managers are trying to get me to put in their pockets. Yeah, i could go to another shop and maybe save $100, but Ford should know how to do the repair properly -having done it hundreds if not thousands of times...
