1998 Explorer anti-theft issues
Hi, I am new to this forum and I hope I am posting in the right place. Okay so I have a 98 Ford Explorer that I'm trying to get started it belongs to a good friend of mine and it has no keys and the ignition lock cylinder was broken out. He went and bought a new ignition lock cylinder that came with two keys with transponders. Obviously, this is not going to work because the new keys we're not programmed into the PAT system. Is there a work around this thing so as to avoid having to pay such a ridiculous amount to take it to the dealer or to call in a locksmith? Thank you in advance and I appreciate any help I can get to help my buddy. Peace.
Even if we managed to by-pass certain anti theft features,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the injectors won't work and the engine will not run.
Plan on biting the bullet and get it done right. You may notice not that many vehicles are stolen these days.
