The 4wd lights do not come on any more and does not seem to engage. Is this a new motor actuator or a more simple solution

How about we check all the fuses first?

The fuses were the first thing i checked. The 4wd low light was out when i bought it and it would only go into high. Then the hight light went out so no 4wd.

This is what I would do.
Check at the switch to confirm voltage in and out.
Then check at the transfer case motor for the same voltage signals.
If the signal is present there , confirm a good ground connection at the motor.
If everything is right , recheck the motor itself.
