Default Limp mode

Any idea why a Ford Explorer police interceptor would go into limp mode? We have narrowed it down that there is water causing it but can’t determine where. Has anyone else had this problem?

You need to scan for codes to see why the limp mode is being initiated.

Does it come out of limp mode when you shut the engine off?

Would you care to share how it was determined to be affected by moisture? Were you able to get it cleared and out of limp mode, if so, any particular operation that you did that put it back into limp mode?

Usually a system will go into limp mode to prevent damage to vehicle components.

it has happened a couple of times after taking it through a car wash. it has happened after or during a heavy rain. the dealership had the "WATER DOCTOR" look at it they sealed up a plentum?? and it happened again after that. it does not come out of limp mode after turning it off.
