13 f150 5.0 oil pressure sensor problem
I have a 2013 cord f150 with a 5.0. The engine has a 173k miles on it. My problem- once the engine is at normal operating temperature and I stop at a stop light or bring the engine to idle I will randomly get a low oil pressure warning. This is a random thing not everytime. I have changed the oil pressure sensor with a standard ignition part and it fixed the problem for a short period of time but the issue has come back. I have also noticed my engine idle in drive seems to be a little low maxing out at 500 while in neutral it’s 6-700. My questions are-
what could be the problem? Should I switch the oil pressure sensor to a motocraft part? Am I completely missing something? Do I need to clean the throttle body or raise my engine idle? Or is this a bigger issue I need to be worried about?
lastly the engine does not seem to actually be loosing oil pressure. I have no new ticks or noises and engine performance has stayed normal. I have a video of the problem I can attach too.

I have the same problem. 2011 F150 5.0 with 275,000 km . Did you ever solve the problem ? I have read somewhere that it is a low idle problem caused by gunk buildup in the throttle body. Have you tried cleaning yours ?
Let's face it guys, the mileage is really up there. This is where past service pays off.
Personally , std parts are OK. I would for the price ,try a Motorcraft sending unit. What type and grade motor oil are you presently using?
